A condensed Frankfurt architecture tour for business visitors and architects alike. On this architecture tour we visit destinations both inside and outside Frankfurt city center.
Tour start at the hotel, welcome and getting to know each other
The architectural tour can begin in the Europaviertel. A new district with apartments, offices, a park and a mall with a public roof garden, the Skyline Plaza, has been created on the 90 hectares of former railway land.
First along the exhibition grounds with the striking skyscraper designed by the German-American architect Helmut Jahn, the journey then leads through Frankfurt's Westend past historic turn-of-the-century villas and new company headquarters.
The high-rise buildings on Mainzer Strasse lead to the Hauptwache, the central square of Frankfurt's shopping district. This is where the Palaisquartier was built with the newly built Palais von Thurn und Taxis, an office and hotel tower and the 'MyZeil' shopping centre by Massimiliano Fuksas, which opened in 2009. Architectural contrasts can be seen during the architecture bus tour in the east of Frankfurt, where design and lifestyle companies have set up shop in and next to old industrial estates and factories.
On the Main, the tour leads along the new headquarters of the European Central Bank to the Museumsufer and the Römerberg, where the 'new old town', opened in 2018, can be visited between the historic Römer town hall and the cathedral.
The architecture tour ends at the Westhafen with a view of urban living on the water and modern office architecture.
